Anniversary of Canonisation

October 17 is the second anniversary of Mary MacKillop’s canonisation.

On that day, those gathered in Rome and at home celebrated with joy the public Church recognition of Mary's holiness: steadfast faith, bravery, love of the poor, perserverance, compassion and prayerfulness.

Today, as we reflect on Mary’s fidelity and generosity, and as we read about her life, visit her tomb, watch once more the canonisation ceremony, let us ask ourselves:

• How is Mary’s life a strong and graced model for me?
• What needs do I see when I reflect on Mary’s motto?
• How will I continue her legacy?
