The People Involved
The work of the process that leads towards canonisation is carried out by a person called a postulator. The role of the postulator is someone who proposes or pleads for a candidate for beatification or canonization.
The process of making a saint is long and painstaking, involving years of interviews, research, and documentation and two Australians have carried out the role of postulator that is leading towards Mary MacKillop’s canonisation – Father Paul Gardiner sj and Sister Maria Casey rsj.
