To mark this occasion of Mary MacKollp's Canonisation, a Mass of Thanksgiving for the life of Mary Mackillop was celebrated in St Mary’s Cathedral, Hobart, on Monday 18 October at 7.30pm.
The Mass was attended by His Excellency, The Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood AC, Mrs Underwood, Premier David Bartlett, Opposition Leader Will Hodgman and respective Mayors.

Banners promoting the canonisation were displayed along Holyman Drive from Hobart Airport and throughout the City of Hobart.
